冷再生拌和机工作原理是配备一个装有若干个硬质合金刀具的切削转子，转子旋转时，向上切削泥土，在拌和罩内被切削下的泥土与撒布的缓凝水泥进行充分均匀地混合，见图11。当工作深度一旦确定时，转子的切削深度将由传感器感应并传达控制系统，从而保证拌和深度，达到拌和要求。在冷再生拌和机工作时，其行进速度为5~8m/min，同时配有专人跟机每隔15~20m检查拌和深度，并配合再生机操作人员及时调整拌和深度，严禁出现拌和不到位的夹层现象。
